This year’s Doernbecher collection will have not one, but two different versions of the Air Max Zero. This colorful Nike Air max Zero Doernbecher was designed by 10 year old Chehayla Hyatt.
Chehayla is currently battling cystic fibrosis. It is a genetic disorder that affects the lungs, pancreas, liver, kidneys, and intestines. Although Chehayla was diagnosed with this disorder, she doesn’t allow it to stop her from having a dynamic personality. These shoes are the perfect representation of who she is.
Her version of the Nike Air Max Zero is very colorful and full of details. These include bold colors, cat faces on the midsole, a set of speckled laces, stripes and purple hearts – which represent ribbons worn for cystic fibrosis awareness. Chehayla was given the nickname “Nugget” by her sister since its her favorite food, which she decided to put on the lace dubraes as a noteworthy conclusion.
The shoes also come with matching apparel. The hoodie has cat ears and hearts to fit the theme. The pants are covered from top to bottom with Chehayla’s favorite things. Additionally, her nickname also appears on the legs. The Nike Air Max Zero Doernbecher will drop on December 17th for $130.
