Reebok Classic and Jonathan Simkhai, 2015 winner of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, have partnered to create a line of custom Freestyle Hi sneakers which debuted on the runway during New York Fashion Week.
The Reebok Classic x Jonathan Simkhai collaboration includes eight unique styles that were inspired by the lightness and ingenuity of the designer’s new collection.
The custom Freestyle Hi sneakers were designed in collaboration with Simkhai himself. Each is cloaked in Simkhai’s signature fabrics, including ecru crochet, blue seersucker, indigo denim, ecru denim, white leather, black leather, powder pink leather and midnight blue leather.
Originally introduced in 1982, the Freestyle Hi was the first fitness sneaker created and marketed towards women, and it remains an important women’s lifestyle silhouette to this day. As both companies continue to provide innovative, stylish, and comfortable designs for the modern woman, they are part of an effort to continue evolving in the fashion space.
“I have always admired Reebok’s commitment to crafting quality styles that cater to the many demands in a woman’s life, which parallels my own design philosophy. It was an incredible experience to work with the Reebok team to create unique variations of the Freestyle Hi. I’m excited to see it all come to life on the runway,” said Jonathan Simkhai.
A limited supply of Reebok Classic x Jonathan Simkhai Freestyle Hi sneakers will be coming soon for purchase.
