Last week, FILA announced that it has signed NBA Hall of Famer Grant Hill to a lifetime deal. To celebrate the partnership, the brand has created a special-edition sneaker style, set to debut at ComplexCon. Tomorrow, at Noon PST, Grant will also be available for an autograph signing at the FILA booth #i7.
The Grant Hill 2 Hall of Fame was designed to pay homage to signature elements of Hill’s career and to further honor his recent induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. This iconic high-top silhouette was the second in a series of basketball shoes developed for Hill in the 90’s.
The Grant Hill 2 HoF is offered in two colorways, including the iconic white and navy hues as well as a sleek black version. While details mirror the shoe’s original release from 1996, the Grant Hill 2 HoF features a more refined, sophisticated silhouette, crafted with a premium full grain leather upper and leather lining, and decorated with personal touches and gold accents. For each colorway, bold pops of color are featured on the back heel of the shoe, meant to represent each of Hill’s professional teams.
FILA’s signature 96 logo appears on the shoe’s upper, with additional FILA logo hits on the tongue and across the adjustable back straps. The sock liners feature Grant’s number “33” in metallic gold. The white/navy colorway also includes gold detailing on the back strap and patent leather accents.
To coincide with the Grant Hill 2 HoF footwear, FILA is introducing an apparel collection. The assortment of tracksuits, tees, hoodies and long sleeve crews are decorated with the FILA/Hill logo, the signature 96 logo and the number “33.” The gear is offered in classic colorways like black, white, navy and gray, with gold accents that continue to spotlight Grant’s Hall of Fame accomplishment.
The Grant Hill 2 Hall of Fame footwear will be priced at $120. The apparel will range from $30 for t-shirts to $100 for a woven jacket.
