The Curry 2.5 is now apart of UA’s line up.
Stephen Curry is welcoming the post season with the release of a new sneaker model. The Curry 2.5 mixes the old with the new by including some of the most popular features of the older models. These features include the charged foam cushioning and herringbone traction.
The synthetic upper’s construction is a nod to the warriors’ home in Oakland, California. The molding features lines that are inspired by the Bay Bridge, that connects the East Bay with San Francisco. The shoe also features the coordinates to the Oracle Arena on the heel.
Under Armour also stated that inspiration for the design of the shoe was drawn from Curry’s precise movements on the court, as well as a warrior’s spearhead. Evidence of this can be found in the diamond shapes on the upper. It has been said that this also represents five teammates working together to forge an unbreakable bond.
The shoe will release in three color ways other than the 73-9. Two of the three will feature a black base with yellow and red accents throughout. The other features a blue base with yellow accents. The shoes will be released in a limited quantities on May 28th with a wider release on July 1. The retail price for the Curry 2.5 is $135.
