As a final farewell to Kobe Bryant, Nike is releasing the Black Mamba collection in successive order, starting with the Huarache 2k4. Originally known as the fade to black pack, the Black Mamba collection will release throughout next month and close out on April 13th with the release of the Kobe 11 Elite FTB.
The collection features all 11 signature sneakers as well as the Huarache 2k4s and the original hyperdunks, both worn on court by Bryant. Thirteen cities are represented by each of the 13 shoes, with GPS coordinates on each shoe box. Bryant encourages fans to follow his journey by using the coordinates on the box.
Starting with the white Huarache 2k4s, the shoes progressively get darker, or “fade to black” to commemorate the build up of Kobe’s final game next month. Every shoe in the collection has been worn on court and are a part of the making of the HeroVillain.
The collection pays tribute to Kobe’s nickname, Black Mamba. On Kobe’s final game against the Houston Rockets, he will wear his signature Kobe 11 Elite FTB on court. The Black Mamba pack will retail globally in limited quantities at a set price of $200.
