Jordan brand is back at it again. The Air Jordan 1 OG High will be releasing in another color scheme that we aren’t familiar with. The “David Letterman” colorway will be hitting stores on April 30th and will come with a price tag of $160. Just like MJ, David Letterman could be considered one of the greatest at his craft. Though he retired a short time ago, Jordan still remembers his early days in the league and being a guest on the show.
It was there in 1985 that Jordan spoke about his then controversial Air Jordan 1. He spoke of the now famous “banned” sneaker, and how he wasn’t allowed to wear them on court. Jordan pays homage to his early days by dressing the shoe up in the same vibrant colors as the track suit he wore on the show so many years ago. The Air Jordan 1 OG High “Letterman” comes in a light crimson base leather upper. The shoe also has added hits of Navy blue as seen on the tongue, Nike swoosh, sock lining, branding, and outsole.
The white mid sole adds a bit of contrast, while the laces come in Navy blue and crimson. The choice of picking which laces to put in is a nice touch to give the shoe more appeal as well as a variety of styling options. There is a lot of history behind the making and naming of the sneaker. The iconic silhouette has been dressed in this new colorway as an ode to humble beginnings. Who would have thought the banned AJ1 would be so popular?
