Stephen Curry and Under Armour Basketball just released Episode 2 of their new content series, “Wired Different,” where Stephen aims to find out who else is cracking the code in their fields of play like he is in basketball.
Episode 2 of “Wired Different” features award-winning film director and Oakland, Calif. native, Justin Tipping sharing his unique approach to cinematography with Stephen. Honing his craft in Italy, Justin was moved by films from the Italian neorealist movement that spotlighted people on the fringes of society, something that was not seen in Hollywood when he was growing up. This life-changing time spent abroad ultimately led to his debut feature film, “KICKS” and the culture surrounding sneakers.
Justin shares that directors are “the last abider of taste and tone” in the filmmaking process, and he brought his creativity to the UA ICON platform as he designed his own Curry 5. What’s Justin’s style inspiration? “An homage to the grainy black and white (of films) feel, but on a modern day shoe.”
