With December behind us and the winter cold just setting in, FILA kicks off 2017 with it’s much anticipated “Polar Light” 95 colorway.
January through March prove to be the best period for Aurora hunting, not to mention the snow adds a nice touch to the scene. The colder climates during this three-month span provide a sight worth braving the freezing temperatures for. The FILA “Polar Light” 95 carries hints of the aurora skies, which display green, red, purple, and pink.
The iconic retro basketball silhouette carries a FILAbuck upper for this rendition. There are iridescent hits on the toe cap, lower-quarter, back counter, heel pull, and in the silhouette’s large 95 logo detail, which is recessed and embedded on the outer midsole. The upper sits atop an EVA midsole and rugged rubber outsole. The latter features a unique dual row herringbone tread that translated well on the rough blacktop just as much as the court. The silhouette also features the original distinctive lace system with webbed gillies running the length of the shoe’s eye row and around the ankle. This allowed for a custom fit and a unique look, two important variables that make 90’s footwear memorable.
FILA’s “Polar Light” 95 is due to release on January 13 for a $95.
